Game Development Techniques
- Experienced in creating High and Low Poly models for PS3, Xbox360, PC, PS2 and PSP – including textures, LOD’s, shadow volumes, vertex lighting and lighting shells etc.
- Excellent free hand drawing skills, able to draft and concept ideas quickly and clearly if required.
- Familiar with asset management programs and able to maintain and update task schedules as required.
- Experienced in reviewing and critiquing outsourcers work before signing off for use in game.
- Comprehensive Maya knowledge, familiar with the process of producing a model/character within Maya from concept, modelling, UV layout, texturing, rigging, painting weights, lighting and rendering. Able to build basic MEL scripts.
- Able to model creatively and accurately to plans (Nurbs and Poly).
- Able to check and resolve issues such as non-manifold geometry, n-sided faces, z-buffer/z-fighting and other such modelling and texturing issues. Experienced in quality checking other artists and Outsourcers work before use in-game.
- Can extract UV’s for accurate power of 2 texture painting within Photoshop or similar application using the suitable projections.
- Excellent texture painting skills within Photoshop due to knowledge of traditional hand painting and drawing techniques.
- Familiar with Maya 3D animation, camera and lighting techniques – able to produce both pre-vis animatics and production quality animation.
- Usage of Maya Live for tracking live footage in a 3D environment.
- Highly proficient with a number of mediums such as Inks, Watercolour, Oil paints, Airbrush and Clay.

- Alias Maya 6.5, 7.01, 8.5 – Modelling, Texturing, Lighting and Rendering for Animation, Character, vehicle or environment creation.
- NewTek Lightwave – Modelling and Texturing, Exporting to game.
- Adobe Photoshop – Able to produce material textures without the use of stock photos etc to simulate real world objects.
- Discreet Combustion 3 and Adobe After Effects to composite rendered images in order to produce a production output.
- Pixologic ZBrush - Can model and texture within ZBrush (ZSphere mesh). Able to use low poly Maya models as tools within ZBrush for creation of displacement maps or normal maps.
